The Twins Dine at the Lopez Abode in Saugerties, NY

Joe and Irene Lopez, Toasting the Visit of the Twins to there home!

First I must apologize for the tardiness of this raving review. I have to say first that seeing Joe and Irene was a joy. We enjoy them so much and the meal that was served was just a bonus to our visit.

We were greeted with a dining table cheerfully decorated with ivory dishes and gold rim wine glasses. There was Spring Flowers all over the home making it an invited space to visit and dine.

Chef Irene cooked for us. She made the following; we started with a stuffed clam, which was very tasty. The herbs and the breading was well balanced with the chopped clams. We then had a delightful stuffed pork cutlet with a savory stuffing with applesauce that tickled our taste buds. Chef Irene also served oven-baked sweet potatoes fries that were so tender and a welcome change to a regular potato side dish. We had a wonderful salad made with fresh greens and fennel along with bread from Pantara Bakery that complemented the meal. We had an Italian Asti from Verde, which was a big hit with all of us.

For Dessert Irene made homemade short cake that she served with strawberries and whip cream, which was outstanding!

We also brought a cherry and peach pie from the Dolce Bakery located in the Hopewell Jct. area. We have to say that Joe was taken by this pie so much that as we show in the pictures he was trying to make love to it so to speak he enjoyed it so much.

In closing, I want to say that the “Twins dining at the Lopez Abode” was a 5 star experience and we look forward to another visit to Saugerties NY.

Mr. Quinn and Hand Sanitizer Usage.

We at “I Know Good Food” have to report our founder credo on the use of Hand Sanitizer. He said that we all must use this product when we go to restaurants, when we visit at his home, and to use daily in our lives. He loves the smell of this product as he wishes that everyone and everything could have that smell.

We hope that all our readers will consider the use of this product on a daily basis, as for our founder wants a germ free world. Let us all try to consider his request seriously!

I know this is not food related, but we want our readers to get to know our founder and this is a Human Interest story about him.

Joe’s Dairy Barn, Rt. 82 Hopewell Junction, New York

SPRING HAS ARRIVED AS JOE’S IS OPEN!

I know that March 20th is the official first day of spring. However, for us at “I Know Good Food” has always celebrated our welcoming of spring with the reopening of our Favorite Ice Cream Stand, Joe’s.

We made our official first visit of the 2009 season on Monday March 16th. We had the following; Soft Serve Vanilla in a cup and a Hot Fudge Sunday. We are happy to inform our readers that the Soft Service Ice Cream was as  always smooth and creamy. The owners have not skimped on the quality of their Soft Serve Ice Cream.  In a time when most things are made with less Joe’s is MORE!!

Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration at the Quinn Residents

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK'S DAY!

On Monday March 16, 2009, some of the staff at “I Know Good Food” got together at the Quinn residents for the traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. Our founder’s wife prepared the food.  It was the traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner with Carrots and Mashed Potatoes. Our leader, Mr. Quinn rated the Entire dinner as a 9.8 (see video below). We want to make mention that Karen makes a very special drink for the celebration of Saints Patrick’s Day; she calls it Her Special Irish Cream (see Pictures below). All I can say is that we love it when she makes it. We are looking forward to next year so we may have this wonderful beverage again.

We also had some Verdi Asti Spumante with dinner.

We at “I Know Good Food” wish everyone a fun filled and safe Saint Patrick’s Day!
