Beekman Square Diner

This review is a very special one as Mr. Quinn took two of his beautiful daughters, Nicole and Jamie to dine with him on the evening of January 29, 2009. They went to The Beekman Square Diner in Poughquag, NY. While there we were provided with 2 videos while they were eating.

Mr. Quinn had the Hamburger platter and his daughters ordered from the “Kids Menu”. Nicole had the Hot Dog with Fries and Jamie had the Fish and Chips. It was reported to me that they all enjoyed there dinners. As for Rose, she was ordered a Mushroom Burger and ate it at home and she also enjoyed it (no “X”). The Beekman Square Diner is also a favorite for Rocky T comes to visit for the weekend. On Sunday morning they go to the Beekman Square Diner for Breakfast. We can report that the pancakes are very good!

Dining at Frank and Louis' Home

We had the honor of having Mr. Quinn and his lovely wife Karen to our home tonight for an impromptu dinner. On the menu was Chicken Soup with Acini di Pepe pasta, Chicken Breast wrapped in Bacon roasted in the over. The Side dishes were Whole Kernel Corn with butter and Smashed Red Potatoes with Gorgonzola Cheese.

To give full discloser, I will say that the Potato and Chicken dish was my first attempt and needed some tweaking in the future. But, as the video will testify the soup was spot on!

Catalano's Pasta Garden, 985 Rt. 376 Wappinger Falls, NY 12590

On Tuesday January 27, 2009 Mr. Quinn and his wife Karen went to Catalano's for Dinner. The meal consisted of Escarole Soup, Lasagna and Chicken Mona Lisa, which is a Chicken Breast seasoned Ricotta Cheese, spinach, Mozzarella Cheese in a sautéed white wine sauce. Mr. Quinn was quite pleased with his meal and was quoted to say "The Escarole Soup was fit for Grandma's Table and the Pasta is the best in Duchess County." Karen said that she always enjoyed the Chicken Mona Lisa each time she ordered it.

Cafe Maya, Mexican Kitchen and Cantina!

We at “I know Good Food” want to wish Café Maya good luck Located at 2776 West Main Street, Wappinger Falls N.Y. The Staff at “I Know Good Food” has always enjoy the Latin Fare that is offered at this location and her sister Restaurant Maya Café located on rt. 9 Fishkill N.Y.

Gian Bruno Restaurant Pizza, Hopewell Jct. NY

Mr. Quinn,his daughter Kelly, and Rose went on Saturday January 24, 2009 to have dinner. They ordered a Pizza and Meat Lasagna. It was reported that all food ordered was enjoyable and they would return again.

Eveready Dinner revisited!

Mr. Quinn with his wife Karen and Frank and Louis went to lunch at the Eveready Dinner in Hyde Park on Friday January 23, 2009. Below I have a photo journal of what was ordered. I also have a rare video of Mr. Quinn with his critic of the meal and the ambiance of the Dinner; this is very enjoyable for all to watch. The food was good and this place has become a standard for excellence in eating by the "T" Factor" and I know Good Food!

Rose Reading the Menu

Mr. Quinn and Rose went to Rubies on Wednesday January 21, 2009. Rose had the Thai Phoon Shrimp and the Broccoli and Cheese Soup. She conveyed to me that the Shrimp was the best she's had! She also enjoyed the Soup.  All and all this restaurant got a good rating and “I know Good Food” will be returning to dine there again.

Handshakes Restaurant, Rt:82 Hopwell Jct, NY

Rose, and Mr Quinn went to Handshakes this evening. The first report being turned in is that the Shrimp was good. More will be posted when this reporter interviews the dinners.

My First Posting

I will be contributing to this blog from time to time. I will give my opinion about different restaurants and the food we have there. I don't always agree with the others in our group. I look forward to the adventure!!

S & J Deli Superette, Taconic Plaza Hopwell Jct. NY

Mr. Quinn, enjoying his wedge!

On Saturday 1/17/09 The "T" Factor had purchased a Combo Wedge. It was rated by Mr. Quinn, Frank and Louis as outstanding! Karen did not like the sweet peppers so she voted a "no" since the flavor of the Peppers ruined it for her. 

Rose was noncommittal to the sandwich as she was not that hungry but had a small piece.

In closing we as a group think that the S & J Superette is one of the best Italian style deli in this area.

Just a Personal Note: Louis attempted to make Nachos on Saturday Night with lots of Mexican Cheese and Salsa. The rating goes as follows; Mr. Quinn liked it, Frank and Karen liked it also. Rose did not like it, we just add another "X" to the long list of her dislikes!

Rose at The Carvel Ice Cream Parlor, Hopwell Junction, NY

Rose loves to go to Carvel as she clams it helps her with her daily routine!

Eveready Dinner, Hyde Park, NY

Mr. Quinn and company went to lunch on 1/12/09 to the Eveready Dinner in Hyde Park. Mr Quinn comments on the menu was as follows: Nachos - "They were the best I have had ever". He liked the chips and the toppings were very fresh and the portion was large. He had the Clasic Burger with American Cheese, he enjoyed the burger but hated the tomato, lettuce and red onion.  

Rose said she was not pleased with the food.

Frank and Louis had the Classic Cheese Burger and said it was the best burger they had in Dutchess County!
